Susan Tang
Meet Susan.
She recognizes that each individual may need to seek therapy for a number of reasons, such as receiving support during tremendous transitions in life, to face and endure new challenges, or to deal with the difficulties that one may encounter. Susan believes that every individual has the innate capacity to cope with the challenges that life offers, but it can be difficult to access these abilities from the encounters that each of us have had before.
In her work, Susan is dedicated to creating a comfortable, safe, and supportive environment. She seeks to work alongside each individual, where they are the expert of their own experiences and has the capacity of directing the therapeutic sessions. She likes to build a relationship with the individual in order to help them develop trust in themselves, to find their voice, and most of all, to heal what has been hurt so that they are able to take a step forward.
Susan takes a creative approach to her work, offering the individual the freedom of expression and exploration within her environment. She draws on a number of therapeutic modalities, but she understands the importance of tailoring therapy to the needs of the individual. Susan is rooted in strengths-based lens, where she brings in trauma-informed, narrative-focused, and cognitive-based modalities within her work. Susan is committed to exploring and empowering her clients; to introduce them to new ways of working, caring, and being; and to offer them the tools and strength needed in order to thrive successfully.
