Monica Lynch
Meet Monica
Empowerment and resilience are the core traits Monica seeks to bolster with her clients. Through a strengths-based approach, Monica helps clients to identify skills and traits within themselves for overcoming life challenges and setting goals for self-growth. Those who work with her feel a sense of trust, respect and dignity; their voices heard, strengths identified, and experiences validated.
With a decade and a half experience in the school system as a classroom teacher, student support staff and school social worker, Monica is well versed in working with children, youth, young adults and their families. She is passionate about working to problem-solve collaboratively with young clients and their support systems, to foster their strengths and well-being.
Integrating professional knowledge and personal experience, Monica is versatile in working with individuals, families and groups. Through a client-centred approach, she combines her diverse knowledge base with evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), narrative therapy and mindfulness practices, to create a best-fit treatment approach.
Through a strengths-based approach Monica is resourceful in helping clients to advocate for themselves through collaboratively identifying and connecting clients with tools, resources and support networks within their communities.
A lifelong learner, Monica continually seeks out opportunities for training and professional development, which has a direct impact on the flexible and dynamic nature of her practice.
